The man standing facing right in the background is Gauleiter Franz Hofer (Nazi party chief for the Tirol/Vorarlberg province), while the SA-Obergruppenführer sitting at left is Wilhelm Schepmann. Schepmann would succeeded Viktor Lutze as Stabschef (SA) after Lutze was killed in a car accident in 2 May 1943
